*About Program:
On a popular demand from our members, for the first time we are organizing the National Himalayan Trekking Expedition Bedini Bugyal, which is situated at an altitude of 11,000 feet  in the Chamoli District of Uttrakhand state. Bedini Bugyal is located under Gopeshwar forests.  Bedini Bugyal is one of the most beautiful alpine meadows in India. It provides breathtaking view of the Trishul peak. For wildlife and nature-photographers, Bedini Bugyal offers lot of opportunities to capture nature at its best.
*Trek  Grading : Easy to Moderate
 These treks have 3 to 6 hours walking per day and can involve some ascent and descent while touching the altitude around  11000-12000  feet. No Experience is required  for  participating in  such  grade of treks. These treks  are open for the first timers.
*Range : Garhwal, Uttrakhand
*Flora and Fauna:
There are many trees like chir, Oaks, Conifers, Sal, Deodar, Haldu, Yew, Cypress, Rhododendron, Birch, Horse-Chestnut, Cycamore, Willow and Alder are found in Garhwal.  A large variety of medicinal herbs, shrubs and bushes like Brahmi and Ashwagandha are found in abundance here. One can also savor fruits like Figs, Mulberry, Raspberry, Blackberry, Currants, Medlars,  Hazelnuts, Apples, Pears, Cherries, Apricots, Plums, Peaches, lemon, Oranges, Bananas, Pomegranates and Walnuts.
 Garhwal is also  full of rich animal life which includes mammals, reptiles  and birds. Monkey, Langur, Wild-Cat, Goat, Pig, Fox, Wild-Dog, Black Bear ,Snow Leopard , the Flying Squirrel (locally called Rinoola) etc  are also seen in this region

9N/10D ( participants will have to check out from base Camp after breakfast on 10th day)

*Day wise schedule:
#Day 01: Reporting at Base Camp Gwaldam
#Day 02: Acclimatization, Orientation and Training
Trekker will move around the base camp to gain height for proper acclimatization followed by the opening address in which trekker will be briefed about YHAI. High atitude sickness, dos and don’ts in mountains etc.
# Day 03:
Acclimatization Level 2, Medical and Kit Inspection: Trekkers will be taken to acclimatization walk on high altitude followed by medical and Kit Inspection.
#Day 04: Trek to Didna village Via Kulling
On this day trekkers will be lifted from Base camp to Kulling by bus after travelling the distance of 55 kilometers, will be dropped at Kulling Village. Kulling is the point where trekkers will have to start trekking for maximum 4 hours to reach the Didna Camp.
#Day 05: Trek to Bedini Bugyal
 Early Morning after breakfast trekkers will be provided pack lunch for the trek. This trek will take 07 to 08 hours to reach Bedini Bugyal via Ali Bugyal; Ali Bugyal is a lush green meadow resting at the top of the mountain like a luxury penthouse of a skyscraper. Bedini Bugyal Is a very fascinating plain ground with greenery above the tree line at an altitude of 11004 feet. Bugyal is also the main source of the River Neel Ganga.
#Day 06: Trek to Pathar Nachuni
Pather Nachuni is the highest camp site of this trekking expedition. On this day early morning after breakfast followed by the distribution of pack lunch, trekkers will have to trek for maximum of 4 hours to reach Pathar Nachuni. This is also the most beautiful and attractive camp of this expedition which is located at an altitude of 13002 feet and offers the fascinating scenario of many mountain peaks.
#Day 07: Trek to Kalu vinayak and Back to Patar Nachuni
This is the day when trekkers will move from Patar Nachuni to Kalu Vinayak Temple and can enjoy the scenic beauty of the snow covered mountain peaks like Mount Trishule, Mt. Nanda Ghunti, Mt Choukhamba etc. After reaching this destination trekkers will be given the limited time for lunch, photography, Prayers etc. and will descent to Patar Nachuni for night stay. It will take maximum of 04 hours to summit and 02 hours to descend
#Day 08: Trek to Minfar Camp
 After successful summit, the descending route will be diverted so that extra fascinating views can be covered during the trek. On this day trekkers will descend to the Minfar Camp which will take around 6 hours and on the way to Minfar trekkers can enjoy the whole view of the trekking route.
#Day 09: Descend to Base camp and Recreational activities
This is the final trekking day of this trekking expedition when trekkers will have to descend around 08 kilometers which can take maximum 05 hours to reach Wan Village where trekkers will be lifted by bus, after travelling 62 kilometers trekkers will be dropped at Gwaldam Base
Camp. During this trek trekkers can see the many beautiful and famous birds like Monal (State bird of UK) etc.

*How to Reach:  
Our base camp is at Gwaldam, which is easily connected by roads. Busses & sharing Jeeps are available from major town of Uttarakhand, like Almora(92 km),Kausani(36 km).
The fastest way to reach Gwaldam from New Delhi is to take- 
1. 12040 Shatabdi Exp(from NDLS to KGM) dept-6 a.m. everyday.
2. 15060 Lalkuan Exp(from ANVT to LKU)dept-14:05 p.m.Tues &Thu day.
3.15035 Sampark kranti Exp(DLI to KGM) dept-16:00 p.m. everyday.
4. 15013 Ranikhet Exp(DLI to KGM) dept-22:30 p.m. everyday.

up to Haldwani, then take a sharing jeep or bus, from Haldwani to Gwaldam.
The nearest Rail heads are Kathgodam & Haldwani. Nearest airport is Panthnagar.
From Haldwani,take a bus for Bageswar & get down at Garur. From Garur sharing jeeps are available till Gwaldam.
Note: Participants are advised to reach before 8 pm at Base Camp Gwaldam. As no conveyance will be available after 8 pm in hilly area.
The participant must be physically, and medically fit and above the age of 15 years to 65 years. YHAI membership is mandatory to participate. This condition will be adhered to strictly. Under age will not be considered in any case. The participant should be in position of Medical Certificate at the time of reporting, and the validity of Medical Certificate will be considered only for one month.

Maximum Age: 65 Years

After successful transaction Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry "Admit Card", "Trekking Medical Certificate" & "Membership Card, two passport size photographs at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.
Offline Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may apply on the prescribed "Trekking Registration Form" duly supported by a "Trekking Medical Certificate", along with a Demand Draft of requisite amount of Rs.5500/- in favor of “Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi. *Cancellation Rules:
In case you are unable to join this trek, you will get a refund of 50% of your booking (except online charges) provided when your request is received through & offline booking should be come through the post directly at the National Office-New Delhi, before 10th April, 2018. After this date no refund application will be considered. Any unforeseen event / strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation.
Online Booking must be cancelled through online or by mail, mail or written request will not be considered for refund if not received by or before scheduled date (10th April).
Offline Booking Request for cancellation and refund may be sent through post/courier at following address provided it should reach National Office before 10th April’2018
Seat once booked may not be re-scheduled or transferred.

Participants, who successfully complete the trekking and abide by the discipline of the program, will be awarded certificates.
*How to reach: 
Our base camp is at Gwaldam which is easily connected by roads. Busses and Texi are available from major town of Utrakhand like Almora (92 Kms, 03 ), Kausani (36 Kms) The fastest way to reach Gwaldam from New Delhi is to take Ranikhet Exp from New Delhi to Haldwani then take a taxi from Haldwani to Gwaldam. The nearest rail heads are Kathgodam and Haldwani. Nearest airport is Pantnagar

*Notice to Participant: 

1.  Smoking, use of alcohol and narcotics of any description is strictly prohibited during the course of the program, anyone found in such activities shall be immediately checked out .

2.  Stay other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.

3.  This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the base camp.


* Special Casual leave:

:  The Trekking Expedition organized by Youth Hostels Association of India have the approval of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Dept. of Personnel And Training), Government of India, vide Office Order no. 28016/3/89-Estt (A), Dated 25 October, 1989. Participants working in the Central Govt. Organization can apply to the authorities concerned for availing special casual leave for the duration of the expedition. This leave can be sanctioned by their office up to 30 days in calendar year.

*Justice TPS Chawla Scholarship for underprivileged Girls: YHAI announced Justice T.P.S. Chawla Memorial Adventure Scholarship for underprivileged girls for participation in YHAI adventure activities. Girls whose family income is less than Rs.100000/- p.a. can avail this scholarship.  Applicant has to submit the salary certificate of their parents.  In case of Business, she has to submit their income on an affidavit. Deserving participants may apply to the National Office YHAI supported by relevant document / certificates.
*Adventure Scholarship for Physically Challenged Youth: YHAI announced 50% adventure scholarships of to physically challenged youth (including deaf & dumb) for YHAI adventure activities. Deserving participants may apply to the National Office YHAI, on a plain paper supported by relevant documents/certificates (Disability Certificate).  
*Off the beaten Siddharth Scholarship for underprivileged Young Men & Women :YHAI announced 50% Off the Beaten Track Siddharth Scholarship of the program fee to provide underprivileged Young Men & Women less than 30 years of age with an opportunity to participate in outdoor adventure activities/ programs by YHAI in various parts of the country.  Underprivileged Young Men & Women whose family income is less than Rs. 250000/- p.a can avail this scholarship by applying to the National Office YHAI supported by relevant document/ 
certificates through their respective State Branch.


* Photography Competition:

After the completion of each trekking expedition, a photography competition will be held for which attractive cash prizes and certificates will be awarded. You may also send your entries in the form of colored slides or prints on the following subjects: Nature-birds, Flowers, Scenic Beauty, Camping and Trekking. The size of the prints should be 8” x 10”. Please give brief details of the location of the subjects and also your name, address and group number on the reverse of the photograph. YHAI has the right to retain/use even the entries which are not selected for awards due to acknowledgement/compensation. Last date for submitting entries is 31st July 2017.
