The fort & town of JAISALMER was founded by Maharawal Jaisal in the year 1156 AD after having shifted his capital from Ludharva (18 Kms away from Jaisalmer) to a safer place. The ruling family of the erstwhile Jaisalmer State belongs to Bhati Clan of Yadu Rajputs of Chandrawasnshi (Lunar) race who claim descent from Lord Krishna,the defied hero who ruled at Dwarka. The historical origin of Bhati can be inferred from the couplet which says that the Yadu Rajputs ruled and constructed Forts at Kashi,Mathura, Pragvad, Gajni,Bhatner,Digam,Dirwal,Lodurva and ninth in Jaisalmer. (Gajni is in Afghanistan and Dirawal is now in Pakistan).
This district has got a very important place on The international tourist map. Popularly known as the “Golden City”, it has the following attraction of the tourist importance.

Salim Singh’s Haveli.
Nathmal’s haveli.
Mandir Palace (Tazia Tower).
Gadisar Lake.
Govt. museum & the folk museum.
All these monuments have the unique stone carving on yellow stone. The whole city is constructed with yellow stone.

Kuldhara ( Remains of Deserted town hundreds of year ago).
Sam Sand Dunes ( The Sunset & Camel Safari are special attraction).
Khuri Sand Dunes.
Akal Wood fossils Park ( Having 180 million years old wood fossils.
Sudhasari ( Desert National Park having the great Indian Bustard and other wild life).
Art & Music The two communities viz. ‘Manganiars’ and ‘Langas’ have not only preserved the traditional art & music but they have carried it beyond the domestic shores. The folk Music with traditional instruments and the folk dances are very popular and fascinating. The cultural programmes performed by these artistes have special attraction for the tourists.
Base Camp for the programme is established in the border home guards ground, Jaisalmer, 2 kms.from bus stand and 4 km from railway station.
Jaisalmer is connected by train service with Delhi, Howrah, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner. It is also connected by road with Delhi, Ahmedbad, Kutch, Pune, Mumbai, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Ajmer & Udaipur. Nearest airport is Jodhpur.

#Day 01- Reporting  Border Home Guard Base Camp Jaisalmer, City visit by own.
#Day 02 –Training & Acclimatization After Breakfast  go for city visit/fort visit by own. After lunch visit sam sand dunes.
#Day 03 – Ramgarh T.V. Tower, Gantiyali Temple & Dunes, Tanot Mata Temple, Longe wala war museum.
#Day 04 – Amarsagar,  Heritage kuldhara village, khabha fort & lodhruva temple – evening free  & Certificate Distribution and Recreation Ceremony
#Day 05 – check out after breakfast.
Note :- All site-seeing shall be at your own cost.  Our volunteers will be help you in planning your programme. Our camp leasers will help you to arrange vehicles.

One Family consisting of Husband, wife and 2 children up to the age of 12 years. Child above 12 year would be charged Extra 1500 Rs Per Child/Member.
HOW TO JOIN:  Members  desirous of joining this programme may apply on a prescribed Registration Form Duly    
                             supported by Medical Certificate which is available from Units/State Branches and National Office.
In case you are unable to join the camp and wish to cancel your participation, Your application must reach the concern offices, For Deepawali programme Cancellation, your request must be received  before   09 Oct. 2019 And  for New Year Programme Cancellation, your request must be received before   29th Nov.2019  . In this case you will get 50% refund after completion of programme. If such notice received after   09 Oct. 2019 (Deepawali Time Reporting Date)  And  29th Nov.2019 (New Year Time Reporting Date) No refund will be given.
WHERE TO APPLY FOR CANCELLATION:- 1. Offline applicants should send their cancellation request in writing & email with admit card copy directly to the office of YHAI, RAJASTHAN STATE BRANCH.
                                                                        2. Online applicants should contact and send their request to YHAI, National Office, New Delhi only. No enquiries to Rajasthan State Branch Office. It would not be entertained strictly. 
NOTE :-   
1. Seat once booked may not be re-scheduled or transferred.
2.   Any unforeseen event / strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a caus of cancellation.
3. Refund may be given after 30 days of completion the programs.


ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES:-  One tent at Base camp shall be given to each family. Ground sheet, blankets, bed sheet      
                                                            & pillow shall be provided.
*What you should bring: Woolen Jersey & muffler, cotton clothes, sun cap, water bottle, lunch box, Mug glass, plate, spoon, soap, toilet paper, towel, medicines, (which you normally use) Camera and Film rolls optional.
* Food & Water Supply: Morning tea, lunch/ packed lunch, evening tea and dinner shall be provided, simple Vegetation, good quality nutritious food shall be served of the camp. Please bring your own plates,mugs,spoons,Tiffin box for pack lunch etc.
Note: special Rajasthan Dishes in dinner.
Example; Dal Bati Churma, Bajra Roti Churma, Ker Songari (Lanji), Beson Gutta Sabji, Methi Mirchi Sabji, Sweel Punchdhari, Beson Barafi.
* SAFETY & SECURITY: Exclusive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of Camping programme for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have visited the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the youth hostel association of India or its Rajasthan state branch will not be responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.
