You should be a member of a Youth Hostels Association of India or National Youth Hostel Association of any other country, which is recognized by IYHF in order to stay in a Youth hostel listed on this site and to participate in any of trekking programmes organized by Youth Hostels Association of India. If you are not a member you are required either to purchase a membership from your nearest Youth Hostel Association Office or membership selling outlet before you start your journey or purchase an International “Welcome Stamp” (one per night up to a maximum of six) when you arrive at a hostel outside your country of residence.

Nothing in these terms and conditions will affect your statutory rights.

1. Bookings made on this website can only be cancelled on this website .

2. Bookings are guaranteed – not provisional.

3. Bookings from individuals – or group bookings for a maximum of nine (9) persons in dormitory are welcome.

4. For bookings of more than 9 people, please contact hostel authorities directly.

5. Bookings are made subject to the provisions in the specially highlighted “Attention” boxes on some hostel pages and booking screens. Please check these provisions are acceptable to you before you make your booking.

Bookings may only be cancelled up to the last cancellation time given on the booking receipt. All cancellations incur an administration charge as follows:

1. If you cancel a hostel booking 3 days or more before the arrival date, a charge equivalent to 6% of the booking value will be incurred.

2. If you cancel a Trekking programme registration 7 days or more before the reporting date, a charge equivalent to 50% of the registration value will be incurred.

3. There will be no refund for cancellations made after the stated last cancellation time shown on the booking receipt.

If you wish to make a booking online, full payment must be made in advance through our secure payment facility, using a valid credit card, which must be in your own name. We accept Visa and Master card only.

Using your credit or debit card to make transactions/payments/refunds via this site is a secure way to pay for your booking. We are committed to protect your personal privacy. The Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) has put a number of security steps in place to give you confidence when booking on-line.

The communication of all sensitive information, including personal details and credit/debit card information, is encrypted through the use of our secure server software (SSL). In other words, we will not rent/sell/give your name, address, e-mail address, other information or personal information to any third party.

All booking details are then held on a secure computer. We do not retain live records of credit/debit card information on our internet web servers after the transaction has been completed.

We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully. However, we must cooperate fully should be a situation arise that we are required by law or statutory obligation or legal process to provide information about a client/member and may share non-personal, non-individual statistical or demographic information, in-aggregate for publicity, advertisers or other third parties for research and advertising purposes.

Due care is taken that the YHAI is able to meet its commitments. However, in no case the officials, representatives and employees of YHAI are liable for any damages relating to the services offered by the organization.

All dates and times stated are IST. Each booking online is guaranteed. The confirmation number provided for each booking will guarantee your bed at the hostel. This number will appear immediately on your booking receipt.

We cannot accept any liability where the hostel booking could not be fulfilled due to circumstances which we could not, even with due care, have foreseen or avoided. Such events may include, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, civil commotion or strife, hostilities, strikes or other industrial dispute, natural disaster, fire, act of God, terrorist activities, technical problems with transportation, closures of airports, ports and/or ferries, quarantine, epidemics, weather conditions, government action or other events outside our control.

This site is provided by YHAI on an ‘as is” and ‘as available’ basis. To the full extent permissible by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, as to the operation of the site or the information, content, materials, or hostels included on this site. You expressly agree that use of this site is at your sole risk.

We do not warranty that this site, its servers, or e-mail sent from www.yhaindia.org are free of viruses or other harmful components. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of this site. Hypertext links to other internet resources, which are not under the control of YHAI, are used at your own risk. The products services, information, and materials obtained through this site are provided and serviced by, and subject to the terms, conditions and warranties, if any, offered by the respective provider of such products, services, information and materials. YHAI and its members make no representation with respect to, and shall not be held liable or accountable for, the conformity of third party products, services, information and materials to such terms, conditions and warranties.

Either our associates or ourselves have visited and checked each hostel and the information and descriptions on this site are made in good faith. However, YHAI does not warranty that descriptions and information on this site are complete, accurate, reliable, current or error-free. If you have cause for complaint during your stay that cannot be satisfied by dealing directly with the hostel manager or if you have a complaint about any aspect of our booking process or services please write or e-mail us and we shall try to resolve the matter quickly and confidentially.

The contract and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of India and in case of specific States the laws applicable therein. The courts at Delhi in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any dispute in connection with such terms and conditions or use of the website.

We reserve the right to make changes to our site, policies, and these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time and you should therefore visit www.yhaindia.org regularly to see recent changes. The software we use encrypts all your personal information so that it cannot be read as it travels over the Internet.

You can check that the information we hold about you is accurate and up-to-date by contacting us. If you find anything is inaccurate we will delete or amend the error promptly. We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.

We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent.

We cooperate with law enforcement inquiries, as well as other third parties to enforce law and order, intellectual property rights, fraud and other rights, to help protect you and the community from crime. Therefore, in response to a verified request by law enforcement or other government officials and other criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity, we can (and you authorize us to) disclose your name, state, telephone number, e-mail address/User ID history, fraud complaints, and bidding and listing without a subpoena. Without limiting the above, in an effort to respect your privacy and our commitment to keep the community free from bad actors, we will not otherwise disclose your personal information to enforcement or to other government officials without a subpoena, court order or substantially adhered to the procedure, except when we believe in good faith that the disclosure of information is necessary and may cause imminent physical harm or financial loss; or report suspected illegal activity. Further, we are authorized by you to disclose your name/street address/city, state/zip code/country, phone number and company name to Intellectual Property right’s owners under confidentiality agreement, at the sole discretion believed necessary or appropriate in connection with an investigation of fraud property infringement, piracy, or other unlawful activity. Due to the existing regulatory environment, we cannot ensure that all of your private communication and other personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Agreement. By way of example (without limiting the foregoing), we may be forced to disclose personal information to government or third parties under certain circumstances, third parties may unlawfully intercept transmissions or private communications, or users may abuse or misuse your personal information they collect from the Site.
