FAMILY ADVENTURE CAMPING

BASE CAMP SEOBAGH


 Youth Hostels Association of India has been organizing adventure activity programmes for the last 41 years .Thousand of youth from all the parts of the country have participate and enjoyed these well-run and economical trekking adventures. This year’s again we are organizing Family Adventure Programme in the picturesque valley of Kullu - Manali.

 

Who you can participate:

 A Family consists of husband, wife and two children up to the age of 12 years. Participation is open to the families of the following categories of YHAI members in order of preference.
      Camp Leaders, Co-Directors, Fields Directors and Directors of National Level Expeditions of YHAI.
       Member of the National Council/Executive, office Bearers of the State Branches and the Units of YHAI and participants of National level trekking expeditions of YHAI.
       A single person does not constitute a family and shall not be registered for this camp, parent of very small children should arrange for their bottle feed.

Fees:

3650 + 150 Eco Development Fund=3800/- for a family consisting of husband, wife and two children up to age of 12 years, The fee shall remain the same even if no children accompany .Rs 900-will be charged for more than two children and above 12 years per additional family member..Payment of fees by Demand Draft only in favor of Youth Hostels Association of India and payable at New Delhi.You can also apply online .Visit us at www yhaindia.org Members desirous of joining the programme  may apply on a prescribed Registration form duly attached with the medical certificate

 Note 1:  YHAI trekking expeditions are not subsidized by any Government agencies or donors.
 Note 2:  Eco Development fund will be utilized for the infrastructural improvement of the campsites and equipment.
 IMP:  YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take insurance cover for your journey and other related matter.

Reporting Dates: 

Arrangement has been made to accommodate 45 families on each of the following dates:

  2. 29TH APRIL
  3. 04TH MAY
  4. 09TH MAY
  5. 14TH MAY
  6. 19TH MAY
  7. 24TH MAY
  8. 29TH MAY
  9. 03RD JUNE
  10. 8TH JUNE 2012

Duration:  

The programme begins on 24th April 2012 with Youth Hostel Seobagh (Tel No: 01920-230113) as Base Camp. Families can report base camp on the above mentioned dates.You may report any of the above mentioned date after getting your seats confirmed.The duration of the camp for each family is 4 nights and 5 days .Reporting before lunch on 1st day and departure after breakfast on 5th day.

Where to Report:  

Youth Hostel Seobagh is 3 kms from Kullu on the left bank of meandering river Beas near Jairu Mineral water Plant .It is linked by road via RAM SILA orchards and terraced fields and commands a panoramic view of surrounding mountains .Regular bus services are available from Kullu from Delhi, Chandigarh& Punjab Nearest Railway Station is Chandigarh (310 kms) & Nearset Airport is Bhuntar (11 kms).

Accommodation: 

One tent shall be given to each family .Mattresses and blankets shall be provided. Family should bring their own bed sheets


Food :

Morning tea ,breakfast ,packed lunch, evening tea(in the camp),dinner and after dinner tea/coffee shall be provided .Simple  vegetarian, good quality nutritious food shall be served at the camp ,please bring your own plates ,mugs ,spoons etc.

Schedule:

 During the stay at the camp ,campers may visit Manali (40 kms ) , Kullu (3 kms )  ,Manikaran Hot water spring ( 53 kms ) ,snow Point beyond Manali  and enroute Rohtang Pass. Buses are available from Seobagh Youth Hostel .All sight-seeing shall be at your cost. Our volunteers may help you in planning your programme.

Toilets:

A well-constructed pucca toilet–cum-bathrooms block is available at the base camp.

Water:

Natural Mineral spring water has been brought to the Base Camp from a nearby source.

Washing of Clothes:

Washing of clothes in the camp area is strictly prohibited.

Thing Should You Bring Along With You:

 Woolen clothes, Cotton clothes, Walking shoes ,Raincoat ,Cold cream/Vaseline ,Personal first Aid kit , Bed sheets  Lunch Box (For Packed Lunch )and Medicines you normally use at home etc.

Cancellation:

In case you unable to join the trek after paying the participation fee, you will get a refund of Rs 1575/- provided your request is received directly in the National Office at least 7 days in advance from the date of your reporting .No refund will, however,be admissible if such notice is short of 7 days .Any unforeseen event /strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation .

Your Attention:

Please note that is an environment friendly trek .Do not litter any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with and deposit at the base camp.

Warning: 

Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited .Import of any Bio Non-Degradable Material in Himachal Pradesh is an offence.
