Madhya Pradesh, often known as the ‘Heart of India’ is located centrally on India’s map and the 2nd largest state in the country. The historical city of Bhopal serves as the state capital.
Due to its central location, the state is surrounded by Uttar Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Maharshtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Madhya Pradesh is the land of one of the largest number of natural parks, including the great dense forests of Satpura and the Kanha National Park. The Satpura Range and Amarkantak biosphere reserves are amongst the 17 bio reserves in the country, needless to say, it is a place of some of the most diversified nature forms in terms of living species. It is home to the roaring Narmada River and the mighty ancient Vindhyachal Mountain Ranges.
The Madhya Pradesh State Branch actively contributes in expanding the Hostelling Movement by organizing several activities that bring together people from all cadres of society. Some of the frequent activities include- Khajuraho- Chitrakoot- Bhandhavgarh Trek and the Amarkantak Trek.
The State Branch operates through 22 Branch Units and the state has 2 Youth Hostels that are well monitored by the Sate Branch in coordination with the National Office.
