BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM: Gujarat is the unique State of India. Stretching into the Arabian Sea, Gujarat is renowned for its beaches, temple towns, palaces and historic capitals. Wildlife sanctuaries, hill resorts and natural grandeur add to its beauty. The state’s major attractions include the only habitat of the Asiatic lions in India (Gir Forests), the Wild Ass Sanctuary, which are not seen anywhere else in the world. The varied landscape of Gujarat is a complete package in itself. Here, the White Desert of Kutch coexists with a long and beautiful coastline is home to unique marine species and its varied geographical locations are said to make it a melting pot of culture, people, places and history. Gujarat is also a delightful destination for the Eco traveller. It has wetlands habitats of Nal Sarovar, fascinating Marine Ecosystem like Pirotan Island, moist deciduous forest of Dangs. Once again, we welcome all Youth Hosteller friends from all over India to join wonderful Exploring the Mount Girnar, Forest of Gir for Asiatic Lion and historical ancient city of Junagadh. The programme is conducted by Gujarat State Branch with Junagadh unit and kind support of Forest Department of Gujarat. We are ready to delivery lifetime memorable moments with unique programme.

Family includes Husband, Wife and two children below age of 12 years. for extra person Rs. 1800/- per person.

DAY WISE SCHEDULE:

Day:1 Reporting and registration at Junagadh Base Camp. Mount Girnar Hiking by stair or Rope way.

Day:2 Visit Devaliya Park/Lion Safari (Gir), Somnath Mahadev Temple etc. (to and fro approx. 200 KM from Junagadh- with own expenses)

Day:3 Visit Dwarika Temple, Shivrajpur Beach etc. (to and fro approx. 400 KM from Junagadh- With own expenses)

Day:4 Check out in the morning and then and city tour, sightseeing, visit of historical places, zoo. (Expenses by YHAI)

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

• Any YHAI member can participate on first come first serve basis. Non-member can get membership at the Base camp by paying required membership fee along with membership form, passport size photo and photocopy of identity cum residential proof.
• A family consists of husband, wife and two children up to the age of 12 years. 3rd Child will be charged extra.
• A single person does not constitute a family and shall not be registered for the camp.
• Husband & Wife's membership is mandatory and membership detail to be produced at the time of reporting at the base camp. (YHAI membership card or receipt of membership fee payment).

HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP:

Junagadh is very well connected by Train and Bus with Ahmedabad and Rajkot. Nearest Airports are Rajkot and Ahmedabad. Regular State Transport Bus service and Private travels buses are available to reach at Junagadh.

FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES: Simple nutritious and delicious vegetarian food.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG:

Light cloths as per personal requirements, mug, water bottle, shoes, personal medicines, lunch box, rain coat or rain sheet, personal basic needs, torch etc.
