BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM:   Goa - the land of silvery sands, golden sun and the exciting Western Ghats - is the destination for enthusiastic trekkers to connect with Mother Nature through expeditions organised by Goa State Branch of YHAI. The participants will enjoy a splendid panorama of hills, sandy beaches, refreshing waterfalls, beautiful landscapes, breath taking groves of palm trees, sun kissed waterways, Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and Dudhsagar falls. The hilly trek of Western Ghats provides trekking trails as steep and difficult as the Himalayan climbs. The trekking route will therefore, offer thesame thrills and excitement as in any mountain with some additional attractions like bus ride, and rail journey in the Western Ghats.

 

 

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?Any member of the Association who is physically fit can join the programme. The minimum age for participation is 10.

 

 

HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP:The base camp is located at Sports Authority Ground, Near Miramar Beach, Panaji Goa. The nearest railway stations are Thivim (25Kms), Karmali (12 km) and Margao (33km.). State bus service is available. Direct bus service is also available from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore& Mangalore. Direct trains are available from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and major cities of India.

 

 

HOW TO JOIN:Members desirous of joining the programme may apply on a prescribed Registration Form duly supported by a Medical Certificate, which is attached with the form. Photocopies of the forms are acceptable. The minimum age for participation is 10. Form should be sent along with draft of participation fee. Member may also register through online booking

 

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE & ROUTE

DAY 1

Report at base camp-Sport Authority Ground,Campal, Panaji.

DAY 2

Orientation,Mobor Beach to Benaulim Beach [12kms](BC to Mobor by bus)

DAY 3

Benaulim to VelsaoBeach( 10kms)

DAY 4

Collem to Dudhsagar ( 10 kms)(Velsao to Collem by train)

DAY 5

Dudhsagar to Caranzol (12kms)(Via Dudhsagar waterfalls)

DAY 6

Caranzol to Jamboli (14kms)

DAY 7

Jambolito TambdiSurla (15 kms)  to base camp by bus.

DAY 8

Check out after breakfast

 

Please book your seats at the earliest to ensure the desired reporting dates. December is the peak tourist season in Goa hence early bookingof trains / buses is necessary.

ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES:Tented accommodation

 

FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES:Morning tea, breakfast, lunch / packed lunch, evening tea and Dinner shall be provided. Simple vegetarian, good quality nutritious food shall be served at the camp. Please bring your own plates, mugs, spoons, tiffin box for pack lunch etc.

 

 

HAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG:Rucksack (if you have one) cotton shirts, cotton pants/capri, sun cap, Hunter shoes, Slippers, 2 pairs of cotton socks, torch, water bottle, lunch box, mug, plate, spoon,  soap, toilet paper, towel, medicines (which you normally use at home). 

 

 

SAFETY & SECURITY:Extensive and painstaking preparation has gone into the planning of trek routes for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. The Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accidents, illness and any such unforeseen eventualities. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If the participant desires to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the trek and checking out. YHAI group insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take insurance cover for your journey and other related matters.

 

 

 

CANCELLATION RULES:

Kindly note that the below mentioned cancellation policy will be applicable only in case you are unable to join the Expedition and  have informed by email to goastateyhai@gmail.com or trekking@yhaindia.org  atleast 10 days prior to your reporting date and  only then your participation fee will be kept in credit shell. Cancellation requests by email only to goastateyhai@gmail.com ortrekking@yhaindia.org will be accepted.  The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to reporting date

 

1) In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason or if YHAI cancels the program due to unavoidable circumstance, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2023. No refund will be applicable for any cancellation of seat.

2) If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the programme till Dec 2023.

3) If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.

4) If the trekker opts for the same programme that was cancelled, he/she will not be charged extra even if the price goes up next year.

5) You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also
